Tuning...You should be at about 40....How are you testing your speed?

Well, I really think the stock S25 is capable of 35 or so in stock form. Mine was. But it may be related to the fuel and the altitude of your location. At any rate, why the need for speed? Are you into racing? Otherwise, I found the S25 to be a fine motor. mine had 8-9 gallona on it and still runs good.

I think the only way to really hit the 40mph mark is to get a bigger or better motor.

get a bigger engine, the SS4.6 will hit 44 mph out of the box and wheelies like crazy.
If that`s not enough try an even bigger one or get the CEN .46 conversion kit.
If you want to do wheelies and jumps and other stunts, you definately have to bolt in a bigger one.

maybe, the only one who is about 30 mph is a stock savvy 3.5.
my SS 4.6 should hit 44 mph out of the box but I don`t think I was able to reach it yet.
I got a real bad half tank lean issue and until it`s solved I keep my engine tuned to the safe side.
By the way do you have a 2-or 3-speed?
the 3-speed will increase your top speed by an estimated 10% and it will increase acceleration significantly.
It`s cheaper than a new engine......

like I wrote above:
get a 3-speed.
the savvy s25 rtr will run at 38 mph out of the box:
38 mph + 10%= 38 + 3,8 = 41.8 mph
and because you have better acceleration you can also use a clutchbell with one or two more teeth.:D

a Savage K4.6 would prolly go about 40mph.
44mph would be achieved with 30% and a few teeth lower on the spur.
my Savage has a picco 28 and its definately more than 45mph

I bet mine does 45mph for sure. I got the 3 speed, and the k4.6 in my savage 25. I'm currently running the robinson racing steel spur gear set with a 48t spur, and a 16t CB, and it really flies. wheelies anytime I want, and excellent top end. I'm also running stock mgt 6 3/4" tires and wheels, for the little bit extra.

i have a savvy x and the 3 speed is the first thing I bought. I installed it a few tanks after break in and the acceleration gain wasnt as noticable as the top end gains were. next on my list is the OS VG .30

the top two engines right now are the LRP Spec-3 and the STS .30
they are both much cheaper than the O.S and much more powerful and easier to tune.

Markallen has the LRP Spec-3 and the O.S .30. the LRP is better in everyway. he has videos on his site of both on his MGT. SuperTib (a pro engine modder) says the same thing. the STS.30 is even better (more torque, same RPM, cheaper price, better quality) but it will require more tuning experience.

IMO, i would not waste my time with the OS.30. for the price, you'd expect the sleeve to have some nice cuts and a turbo crankshaft to go with it. hell the con rod is not even knife-edged. O.S relies on the sheer size of the motor for power rather than modding the part. plus the STS and LRP are almost $100 cheaper. for $250 you can get two STS.30's

Not that I can't tune or anything but I like my surefire .32 It hardly ever needs the carb messed with I love a mill thats easy to turn more time playing and less time tunning do u have a link to that modders site thanks for the reply man

I agree with runover. The .32 was a quick and easy engine to tune and held the tune. the sts .30 is a top performer for the price. if you want the baddest engine you can get that is the nova top t528x. but it is race prepped so very finicky. i know one guy running it in a lst2 it he had to go threw the drive train and strengthen it. every run he would bust parts from the torque and the slack in the drive-train.
