i have been rebuilding my truck and cannot decide what to gear it for i can either go for
on road setup (18 tooth) with mild mid acceleration and good top speed and low suspension ( 1 or 1-1/2 inch drop) for handlind at higher speed
or
off road with (13 tooth) with rapis acceleration and moderate topspeed with slightly lower than normal suspension ( 3/4 inch drop )
i mainly drive on my street car parks but also do offroading and hills .
any opinions would be appreciated
cheers Matt

what engine are you running. I have an os.30 and run 17/49 gearing, good allaround for me, on and off road pops wheelies with easy and fast.

my setup at the moment is a thunder tiger pro 28bx-r with hpi ribbed pipe and a motor saver filter with a cold air feed.Gearing is 15 tooth with standard spur .The suspension is lowered 3/4 of an inch.
Its got good acceleration but wont wheelie of the line but will come up easy enough mid throttle 1st gear . from that info what would you recomend .

I would say you need to tuning the bottom end better .. how does it lunch off the line does it bogg ?? w/ a 15 tooth clutch bell it should wheelie no problem

the main problem was traction. on tarmac all fours tyres would spin up from stand still and start to grip mid 1st gearwhen front end would lift . and on grass . i think i will leave it at a 15t onthe front for now because of the punch it has from bottom and a good top end . and concentrate more on making the truck handle better .
So im up for any tips on making it handle and girp better .
i have already lowered it 3/4 of an inch .and i will more than likely lower it to 1 1/2 inch with internal shock limiters .
