View Full Version : Pilot nut on a flywheel/help
I can't install my pilot nut on my flywheel because the 3 pins for the clutch are in the way. Do I remove them or is there and easy way to get the nut on without removing them? Thanks, FX.

i had a similar problem on my axial for the revo, i used a slightly thinner clutch nut and my spanner would fit. (revo clutch nuts are thinner than standard savage ones i beleive, i used this instead of standard one i got for the axial)
failing that a thinner spanner might fit in
I would really like to keep the nut I have, any ideas?

4 way spanner thing. mine fits, failing that look in a car parts retailer for a thin walled single hex (should be a bit thinner than a bi-hex) 10mm (?) socket.

Do not take the pins out of the fly wheel, or they will keep falling out. Use a slimline long reach socket, or if desperate long nose pliers and tighten it as much as you can.
What tool are you trying to use? I use the hot bodies wrench that has 17mm on it.
I used a long socket and it worked fine thanks for the help.
