Hi everyone, I am new to the savage/rc world and am wondering the point of a mid tank build. Does it do anything besides up the cool factor of savages? Better balanced? Better handling? Let me know I'm curious Thanks guys

It takes care of the half tank lean issue with the stock tank.

Better balanced. More the weight is towards the center of the car. With the better balance means better handling. IMO protects the tank better, as well. Other than that, it really does look sick!

Scott got you covered on on the science behind the mid tank :)
It also IMO (In My Opinion) balances the truck out.

yep scotts got it. when you convert to mid-tank, your raising the height of the tank in relation to the carb so the fuel will gravity-feed.

when the tank is in the stock location, were trying to get fuel to gravity feed up hill when the fuel tank level drops to 1/2 (not always successful).

also, the tank is well protected up front & less chance of destruction on jumps.

all the above and you get rid of the stock linkage thats seems to bend so easily.imo
