is there an aluminum or hardened tranny case for the savage x i just got this toy used and the screws are stripped or stripping in the top cover?
There is aluminum cases but they are of the old design, I haven't seen any of the X style yet.

is there any way to fix the threads?
The best thing to do is get a new case. How bad is it stripped?

bad the top 2 screws dont do much the rest are not bad
Really not an easy fix, especially when it is the top screws of the X case. I would go get a new case that has the 3 screws on the top (revised version for the X SS)

you can fill the stripped hole with super glue, thatll fix it for a wee while, if not a good while

or araldite (epoxy resin) should give summit for the screw to bite onto...
You can use glue but in this case when there is so little thread and that is the part of the case responsible for keeping gear mesh...not sure if I would trust it to hold it. If doesn't hold and allows the top shaft to move some, you may be buying more than just the case.
i agree with jt i tried that and had to replace gears

you could fill the holes with epoxy putty then drill them out and tap them but that would be a pain in the :buttshake:
