not sure about the foams. Only ones I've seen are those ugly cheap chrome top ones.....Only thing I would even think about running would be the Motorsaver Air Filters.

The only K&N filter I have seen on any R\C was a small filter designed to be a crankcase breather on a 1:1 car. They were never designed to trap extremely small particles that would destroy our engines. They are just ebay snake oil.

yeah they dont work, they are more like breathers for oil and dont stop small particals getting through

motor saver all the way

I run the k&n on my jeep. Both breather and oil. I tried the one for the oil on my savage and it let in too much air so i figured that it wouldnt be good on a nitro truck. And with the more air flow i could get it to tune for crap. So i put the stock one back on and perfect tune.

i'm running a pipercross breather on mine, and as it is a breather-the foam is coarse, so i have put some finer grade foam insise the filter, and oiled up. the oil is the most important thing in a filter-without it the particles of **** have nothing to stick to and can just enter the engine. hth!

I would love to build a GTR or a Replica Cobra from Factory Five Racing. Both beautiful cars. My wife wants me to go for the Ultima. Can-Am is the open top.

yup, the can am i saw tear up santa pod (1/4 drag) this year had a removable hard top, so wasnt sure. funny thing, my mate in his rex 7 was doing a run and a mk1 escort mexico was in the other lane, the rex won, but about half way down the strip, his leading bonnet pins came undone and the bonnet ended up on the windscreen. funny to watch, couldn't have benn fun for him tho... did you see/hear the audis this year r10, diesels and all you could hear was wind noise!!:)

what is wrong with the stock filter in the x ? its a two stage filter and if its attached properly and serviced regularly, how could anything pass through it ?

only prob i ever had was the cable tie (which i replaced with a hose clamp)
