Hey guys I'm planning on doing a mid tank conversion, and I noticed that some of you have placed the throttle servo next to the engine. Is there certain parts that I need to buy or make or how is this done? Maybe you can direct me to another thread that answers my question. Thanks!

Hey Alex, what tvp's are you or do you plan on using on your mid tank? There are alot of builds that you could look at in the Mid Tank section..This would be able to help you answer some of your qusetions..

I was thinking about using the flm standard tvps. Also since this truck would be mainly used for bashing are the flm ext tvps better then the standard or which would you recommend?

most of us prefer the ext. you get less wheelies/better control. whichever you choose, get lcg for sure.
when you order tvps, be sure to get 2 sets of flm servo mounts. t/b servo bolts right up <next to mill> then you just make new linkages; its really simple.

If I got the EXT TVP's would it come with everything I needed to use it right away with my stock savage or do I have to buy more parts for it all to be compatable. Sorry for all the questions, but thank you for all the help!

So I liked the idea of the 250cc fuel tank and I started looking at what others have done. This is my shopping list so far.
Ofna 250cc Fuel Tank
HPI Rush Battery Box
RPM Receiver Box
PRC125 - HPI Savage OFNA Mid-Tank Kit
PRC180 - HPI Savage X Rush Battery Box Plate
FLM Servo Mounts x2
Ofna Linkage Sliders Kit
Ofna Servo Linkage Kit
FLM EXT LCG TVP
Does this all sound correct to you? Am I missing anything or have anything unnecessary?

+1 on the 250cc tank and prc plate..You might want to get this to mount you antennna to the rpm box..

list looks good, just definately add the flm skid plate (about $10) and strongly consider the flm motor plate (about $12.00) its way stronger.
you might need an extra set of the flm chassis braces too so you can replace the crappy plastic ones on the bulk plate. short $$ tho, prolly like $3.

Also.. ( a good friend told me) if you use a FLM motor plate you will need to use button head screws on the motor mount. So it will slide under the TVP.

Whats up with the linkage? Your gonna need servo horns also!

You will also need the servo wire extention too or your t/b servo wire wont reach the rx

the skid and motor plate are well worth it and definitely get the braces I bought 4 and used 2 to mount the skid instead of the little ones it came with you will love it when you put on the extesions for the servo and batt heat wrap the wires 1.99 from harbor freight and your lhs should have a little box that clips on the extension where the servo/batt plug in to keep it from coming undone it was like 5.00 for 6 of them at my shop enjoy it

What servo horns do you guy recommend that I use? I already have an extension for the servo. The skid plate and motor mount also seem like good ideas.
Edit: Also I already have the HPI Sway bars, will they still be usable with the EXT TVPs?

Do you think that they will be cheaper than the FLM TVPs or about the same price? I'm guessing that they are lighter and stronger? Is that the reason why people are going for them?
Edit: Sorry I think I miss read your comment. Your saying that others are getting the carbon and selling off their old FLM TVPs right?

I use this horn: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/4971/n/Dynamite-Machined-Aluminum-Futaba-Servo-Horn-Red
That's the one that you need if you are running the stock servo.

yea they are selling FLM's for carbon... I did it a while back and now its a trend... I sold off 3 FLM sets from my savages so I cant help. But more and more are going carbon so it cant hurt to try and get a good deal on the FLM ..
Yes carbon is much stronger then the alloys and you cant touch the weight savings by a long shot!

Do the HPI sway bars still work once I have the FLM EXT TVPS? Or are they now useless?

the FLMs change nothing like that just lower the mill and tranny a lil and make it longer. ALL hpi products will work stock tank etc

I've noticed that some people use, HPI RSC Kit, what is this?

This kit completely changes the suspension design of the savage to increase the turning and overall handling of the truck, very nice upgrade and a must for anyone wanting the best handling for racing, or bashing :).. here is what the kit looks like LINK HERE (http://storefront.smfstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31_93&products_id=2178)

I was looking at FLM's website and I noticed that there is no "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" buttons is this because you cannot buy through their website? Or am I just blind!
