X SS shock assembly question

After assembling the shocks and on the truck I feel they are way too weak.

The question is when one fills the shock with shock oil where should the shock shaft be all the way in or all the way out? Mine were about 1" from being all the way in. I did the bleeding of the air.

I've always left mine completely expanded. When the shock is full of oil, slowly compress it and hold it fully compressed. Then, screw on the top...Afterwards, expand the shock and compress it a couple times, you should feel a good difference than before.
