I do my own mods, been doing it for about 4 or 5 year's. I only do mild mod's unless i have the spec's on the motor im moding. On to your Q. There are sevral company's that will do it. but you can do it yourself if you are good with your hand's and tool's. there are really 2 thing's that get polished the sleave and crank. not really worth the extra time to do the block, the gains are not worth the time.
The sleave after you port it, but be carefull you can damage it if you dont take your time, the bost port and transfer port's. use a buffing wheel on low, take your time dont sit in one spot to long. just these port areas.
the crank jernal and counter weight face, I use various polishing bit's, various fine saind paper, and fine sainding bit's. just do the jernal and counterweight. be sure to tape the shaft the piston rod rides on to avoid damage to it, also the main shaft if you feel you might damage it. the crank can be done without taking very much off it, mostly just smoothing it out and polishing it up. If you have ever looked in the jernal it is rather ruff, you want to smooth it out then polish it, the counter weight same thing, hit it with some fine wet saind paper, also fine sainding pad for the drimmal to get the machine work off the couter W. so it's a nice smooth surface, then simply polish it. I think I have some pic's if not i can take my modded .25 bashing motor a part and take pic's.
Im not the best at explaing thing's but hope it help's.
most moding company's will only do new motor's. TNT mod's will do use one's not sure who else will.
here is a pic of a counterweight and jernal, almost done.
http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/3231/mod036cw8.jpg
and a look at it befor I started, notice the sharp edges on the C.W. and how the jernal if ruffly milled.

here are a few company's,
http://www.massivemods.com/ ,
http://tntmods.com/ ,
eb mods but the will only do new motor's http://tntmods.com/ , http://rbmods.net/
Yes I usally port the sleave and polish it to. The crank in the pic goes to a Star .25 , I did a full mod on this motor only because I had the spec's to go by. The piston sleave was ported, the exhause timeing was changed from the stock 156 duration to 170 duration. the piston skirt was noched out so the the bost port in not blocked by the piston at BDC. the crank induction timeing was changed from stock 188 to 210 mening that it stays open longer alowing more fuel. This made a huge diffrence in the engine proformance. it has a crisp throttle responce, more useable rpm 's from low to high and a good deal more power. It will idle pretty much threw a hole tank if i let it. temps stayed the same. a little diffrent to tune, but still tune's easy.
On most of my motor's ill port the sleave nothing majer and polish the crank. it make the motor run smoother, add's a little hp. over all better preformance.
I would say it would open your motor up, you would notice a crisper throttle, run's a little cooler, and should gain some hp, and a better power curve.
here are a few pic's of the .25 for some reson i dont have a shot of the port work on the sleave...
http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2884/mod021pz8.jpg
the piston after it was cut.
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/9572/mod024sf9.jpg
the crank indution after it was cut and in the final polish stage's
http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/5417/mod028nb6.jpg
the block exhauset port had to be cut to match the new exhaust timeing.
http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/2482/mod032wu1.jpg
If you are good with a dremal and your hand's it is not that hard to port the sleave and polish the crank. a mod shop could 20 to 30 % more power but will cost you 100+
I would say when i port the sleave and do the crank I pick up 10 to 20 % more, but if you do not feel comfy doing it. then dont lol

That is a sweet job, I once ported a trx pro .15 a couple of years ago, i have a picco .26 and its been through a lot, will i see a difference for good or bad if i just clean, polish and cut the piston? can i just cut the piston like you did or is there another step I have to do in order to see any difference, basically will I be wasting my time?

I have heard of AB Mods and also Ricky Brake does mods. Ricky is a Sponsor of the No Limit event and a friend. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I've looked into both and they know what they're doing. Rick Brake does have the upper hand IMO as he puts a coating on the crank to extend life and reduce wear. At this time I do not know if AB offers the coating.

Ive been in contact with AB mods and they have been incredable in answering all my question about mod work.
so far Im impressed with customer service.
Now I need to slip the 105 bucks past the wife for a stage 2 mod on my Axial.
I can not wait,

Hey Crash, I was looking at AB's page and it looks like he may coat the crank too. Can you find out or do you know if he does?

I'm not offering coating at this time. I decided to invested my $ to a MUCH better piece of equipment for my business that insures my customers get PROVEN engine modifications! The X-Dyno. :jamout: Now In the future I would like to offer black hard coating. This is some very nice coating!

I must appologize for my website.. it is very dated and needs to be UPdated! I am in the proccess of finding someone that can build me a new site with a shopping cart and all the goodies, and keep it updated as needed. I also plan on having a dyno data base along with other things. Its in the works... I just dont have a ETA of when it will be done and up ATM.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question yourself AB, that means alot when you want to give someone your money. I may be in contact with you in the future as soon as I get some cash and figure out which mill I'm going with. I'll let you do the expensive one and I'll play with the cheap ones!

Well I know from the past almost 2 months experiances with juiskirc on ebay that the guy is thus far a joke.. I saw where he left EB mods feedback on the ebay store from where he had them do work on his so he could ATTEMPT to copy their work... I Have now sent in my Novarossi 528x 3 times to get pinched and all that and every time not right,,, he kept telling me to send it back as he got new dies to pinch with and when that went back 2 others he did the same time also were in the same condition NOT DONE!!! He did manage to do 2 Picco 28 P3's I have and within 4 tanks a con rod broke where he dremeled the end of it and I thought well maybe a wore out con rod,,, 1 week later on tank 5 of the other one that one broke too and you can look at both con rods and see where he dremeled them too deep!!!!!! The resolution from him on those 2 motors is NO RESPONCE.. So about $75 in parts there he ruined I have to pay for and the other 3 still havent returned yet!!! So out of 5 motors 2 broke and nova went in 3 times and the other 2 went 2 times so far.. Oh and the piccos broke after i sent the other 3 in!!!! yeah its a mess but I will NEVER USE THAT DUDE AGAIN AND DONT recomend him to anyone... go to www.propinch.com if you want your stuff done right!!!!

Grevo i feel for you i will take your advice on that thanks you had some exspencive mills there wow hope you get the rest back if you go with a nother modder go with AB modds he knows what he's doing he don't pull punches i sent him my mills three he jump right on them .no bull he the type of guy you would want for a frend very professional, and promp.i got to talk with him a little every thing he got is fast. plus he owns a dyno's for his work so one thing i learnd from modders dyno's dont lie if they dont have a dyno walk away, then he just guessing thats not a modder also what works on one ,dont work for the other.i hope you the best, thanks for looking out.ps i dont mean that their not a modder just how can you tell what is working.or getting its full rpm or tourq out of it. there all different . good luk on that....

A guy on the other site sent 3 engines to propinch. He posted pics of the shotty work and poor packaging. I wouldnt use them.
I have used AB and RB mods. Both engines are stronger than stock and have no issues. Adam has the dyno, Rick has the experience. one good thing about RB is that you can buy an engine in modded form directly from him.
Robin (purenitro33) is getting my Picco in a week or so. Check out his vids. He defintely knows his stuff.

I apologize grevo. I just remembered to look in and see what came of this thread and noticed that was your only post for a while. I have a bad habit of assuming some times and we all know what that leads to. I also forgot this was Jester's thread, for some reason I thought it was AB's. Short bus strikes again!
