I run a set of both. I have a lot stuck into my LST shocks as they all run TiNi shafts and have the hard anodized body's along with all blue aluminum packs and threaded rings.
My big bores are very nice. I do prefer them as they are just as smooth as the LST's but are much lighter. So for performance they are very similar and for weight the Aluminum bodied BB's are hands down lighter. Mostly due to less fluid.

pretty sweet deal.
the big bores rock. you also have the option of using hellfire shafts which are shorter by .75" .
you get 5 sets of discs with the b.b. so you can tune the dampening.
i recently modded my big bores with the shafts, shock eyes & discs with the same parts from CEN GST shocks.
