MMM 2200kv vs. MMM 2650kv - what is the difference?

Neu-Castle 2650 KV – Intended for 4S (16.8 Volt) operation. Ideal for 1/8th buggy conversions. The 2650 is 68mm long.


Neu-Castle 2200 KV – Intended for up to 6S (25.2 Volt) operation. Incredible in monster trucks with up to 6S lipo packs (4s lipo is the sweet spot), and works great in 1/8 Truggies as well. The 2200 is 75mm long making it capable of handling more power than the 2650. This one is the bad boy!



makes me wonder why the dude in this video makes reference to the kv 2650 saying "....and with the Nue 2650kv motor, this thing will fly"

The 2650 will turn more RPMs on the same voltage as the 2200, but it produces less torque. So it will get higher top speeds, but doesn't accelerate as fast.

good point Ace. Chris from hpisf here was saying it would be a good choice for a buggy (lighter) because of this.

idk, could be tempting for the D8 depending on how my savage build works out lol

Yep, definatley a 1/8 buggy motor. The Savage is too much truck for that high of KV. Castle needs to come out with something like a 1800 or 2000kv motor for the Flux!

25.2V maximum with Flux Tork 2200Kv brushless motor
16.8V maximum with Flux Tork 2650Kv brushless motor

so with the 2650kV, 4s is gonna be the largest off-the-shelf lipo pack you can use according to hpi's specs.

i know it sound different. but i found out that they use Flux Tork motor 2650kv with 2 x 3S lipo on Vorza Flux HP.. check it at the speed of 73 mph setup: http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/103420/

i the link i posted they say 16.8v Max

in the link you posted it says the vorza comes with the 2200kV

then at the 73 Mph it says they used the 2650 on 6s :dunno:

might have to give em a call at HPI customer service & ask.

I do believe the 2650kv can handle 6S LiPo's for a shorter period of time as it will create to much heat on long hard runs depending on the load. They do only recommend 4S setups for it as it is more efficient for normal running but with larger pack it will run that much stronger like the 2200kv. I do not recommend running 6S on the 2650kv unless you know exactly what you are doing and watching for.

but it seems to me that they must have tested the 2650kv with 6S. 2650kv with 4S wont spin faster than 2200kv with 6S..

and maybe its like Larsen said.. it can handle 6S but for short period..
