when I bought my 4.6 I got a gallon of BackYard Basher 20% nitro 16% oil. We got the truck tuned and finished off the gallon. Now my local hobby shop uses the traxis top fuel 20%. The truck runs like crap! Having all kinds of trouble. Can a different fuel than what you used to break the truck in with make that much of a difference? Any advise would be helpfull.

when you change fuels you have to retune. i would think about getting rid of traxxas it junk.

Yea I got that feeling as well. Sounds like a lot of people use the Byrons. Will have to try and find something local.

with a fuel change i would recommend going back to stock needle settings and re-tune for you specific fuel type and wat plug you are running.

ya traxxas fuel has more oil content in it so it tends to make these big blocks run like **** traxxas engines are small blocks so they run at a higher rev which is why they need the extra lubrication, im running with backyard basher myself and like it actually i tried the traxxas fuel once and no matter what i did it wouldnt run right.. dont get me wrong im not bashing traxxas fuel its great for what its intended for but i've heard it a thousand times that it just isnt great in these big blocks..

I would stay away from the BLUE stuff too. For a backyard basher, I would use SIDEWINDER. It is consistant and it has after-run oil in it.

I use byron 20% in mine w/ a fox plug. No probs here. two gallons through and still a good plug.
