I started with radio shack cars when I was around 5 or 6 (the vintage ones that were actually worth having and boy those things are still fun to this day)

Anyways I bought my first savage at 12 and that was the first hobby grade RC I ever had.

I started off with a nitro plane at 10 I saved up for years to get that then it took another year to build it with my dad then it crashed on it's first flight (the wing broke off I cried my eyes out when I whent to get the parts back together[ one of the sadest days of my life]) then my instructor gave me a old plane he had and I learned to fly with that then I moved to turkey and there is no place to fly my plane here there for my mom got me a XL as a new years present I have been hooked ever since :)

I started when I was 12 (I'm pretty sure) with a associated T4. That then lost connection with my radio and went off a cliff into the ocean... I then went and bought my Savage the same day... Brought it home, and guess what? The radio's battery prong's were bad and it shut off while I was trying to break it in! Long story short... I'm two years in, and have 7 trucks :getdown:

I was 56 years old when my son came by one day and asked me if i wanted to go with him and his friends and watch them bash their savage and other rc's and i said yes, that would be great. [ and im thinking to myself, what in this world is he talking about. ] Well to make a long story short, im 57 years old now and im hooked on nitro. On the way home from the bashing i told my son too stop at the hobby store and i bought a savage xl and have'nt looked back. I now own 2 savage xl's, a Hyper 8, a Losi 8ight, and my shelf gueen, pictured below. The savage x GRAVEROBBER

I second that Chris, 7 years old and my dad got me a Tamiya Grasshopper 2. played around with it for a while then found out a local batting cage place (RBI it was called) which was more like a rec center, closed down the indoor basketball court and layed out carpet and setup an oval track with pvc pipe, we modified the grasshopper to lower the frame and added foam tires and i raced it almost every sunday for 2 years, after about 2 months i was moved up to the B class with non-modified pan cars, these things could fly on carpet, was more of a challenge then the radio-shack r/c's i was racing in the other class. Days my dad couldnt make it (was a long haul truck driver) my pap took me :).. man that just brought back some memories.. paps been past away for some time now.... r.i.p

Anyways, i still have the grasshopper, and actually tried finding parts for it recently, need a new frame for it, back shock tower cracked off.
